Surrey Cantata

Director - Professor Sebastian Forbes

Surrey Cantata is a small chamber choir members of which are invited personally by the director to perform in each concert.  The singers comprise members of other groups which Professor Forbes has conducted such as the Horniman Singers, Guildford Chamber Choir and his former students from the University of Surrey where he was Professor in the Music Department. Of their performance in 2009 at the United Reformed Church in Guildford the Surrey Advertiser's reviewer said 'The blend between singers and instrumentalists was magical'.

For their debut in the Guildford Spring Music Festival the Surrey Cantata will present a programme entitled

From Parry to Britten - Classics of English choral music.
