The Will Todd Ensemble

Will Todd’s band play a mixture of blues inflected music and jazz, interspersed with Will’s engaging and informal comments. With well known jazz/classical vocalist Bethany Halliday, this is music which will delight and inspire.

Composer and jazz pianist Will Todd is well known for his uplifting jazz/choral works, especially Mass in Blue which has been performed all over the world and broadcast live on BBC Radio 4. The Will Todd Ensemble have appeared up and down the UK and recent engagements have included Jazz in the Crypt at St Martin in the Fields to launch their new CD Evensong in Blue, a live broadcast from St Martins on BBC Radio 3, and in September 2011 Will Todd was a guest of Aled Jones on The Choir discussing jazz and choral music alongside works by the ensemble.

The Will Todd Trio recently collaborated with saxophonist Lara James on a CD of jazz/classical works which is being released on the Signum label. They have also appeared in Guildford with The Vivace Chorus and the Choir of Holy Trinity Church.

Bethany Halliday is well known as a singer of jazz/classical crossover and has performed with the Trio all over the UK. She blends a gospel and operatic background which gives her performances a very special timbre.
